Mall Road Nainital

Mall Road in Nainital is a road which runs all through the heart of the hill station along the lake which divides the place into two parts. The road was built through the colonial times when Nainital was a popular destination among British officers who came here to beat the scorching north Indian summers. The road, renamed as Govind Ballab Pant Marg, is still referred as Mall Road all over the country. It is lengthily visited by tourists and travelers who enjoy cool and windy evening leisurely walk here.

Traffic Rules on the Mall Road

Entrance of heavy traffic is banned throughout the months of May, June and October from 8 AM to 10.30 AM and 2.30 PM to 10.30 PM light vehicles from 6.00 PM to 10.00 PM and cycle rickshaw from 6.00 PM to 9.00 PM. Parking is strictly banned on the Mall Road apart from some designated parking places with in Nainital. Traffic shall be strictly banned on Mall Road between 6-9 PM throughout season.
